GREETINGS, SOSUS NATION!

If you’re receiving this email, that means you explicitly gave us your address at some point—either through music pre-saving, our t-shirt order form, or elsewhere. We promise we can be trusted with your personal information šŸ˜‰ Anyways, we plan to use this newsletter to occasionally (once a month-ish) blast all our shows, music, merch, and dumb stories in a single location. We all know how social media algorithms can be, after all. THAT BEING SAID….

New Single Coming July 18!

Yep, that’s right! Brand-spankin’ new SoSus is dropping as fast as a hot dish you grabbed from the oven with your bare hands. ā€œEmpire of Rustā€ is our first new Steve Original Songā„¢, which wearily examines the oppressive state of affairs we’re living through. This is the last single off our upcoming EP (more on that later), hopefully it will tide you over until then šŸ’œ

Want an early taste of the song? Here’s our performance of it at the Sapphic Cellar earlier this year:

By the way, Spotify recently deleted all our music off their very cool and ethical platform after we got swarmed by bot streams. We re-uploaded everything the next day and thankfully are already SFB (So Fucking Back). Still very annoying though!

Upcoming Shows!

July 18 @ Falcon Bowl (Milwaukee)
with Super Brick, Fish-Head & The Bones, and No Parking

August 8 @ Sapphic Cellar (Milwaukee house show, message us for the address)
with Agora Bomb, Mourning Star, and Stoned Succubus

August 9 @ UFO Museum Gift Store and Records (Green Bay)
with Pareidolia, Toyboxes, and Heavy Bend

August 23 @ The Greene House (Whitewater)
with Woraz and Vandalism

September 6 @ TBA (Milwaukee)
Big things coming…

And more shows on the horizon! Hit us up at [email protected] for booking if you want to arrange something with us xoxo.

What We’ve Been Up To

We’re balls deep into recording our aforementioned EP, which should be out at the very end of summer. Aside from final mastering, the album is being produced entirely DIY—huge props to Tera for handling all the recording and mixing. We recently wrapped up all the drums and vocals at our practice space, and are tracking the rest at Tera and Tyler’s apartment. Nearly everything except Tera’s parts have been recorded, so our in-house engineer is working on that while any% speedrunning the mixing process. Please pray for her during this tumultuous time.

Speaking of mixing, Tera is interested in knowing whether or not people would be interested in a mixing stream on Twitch to see the process first-hand? Or, would people be interested in a more short-form, 3-minute breakdown of the mixes on social media?

We played in Green Bay for the first time in May! It was the first time 3/4 of us had been to the city, so we set out in the morning to explore the area before the show. Unfortunately, as fun as the trip was, it concluded with us putting down our drummer Jonathon. He was a lovely addition to our band, but it was inhumane to let him continue suffering. You can follow our efforts to give him one last really good day on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

Lastly, as the enthusiastic capitalists we are, we decided to sell branded coffee because we thought the pun was funny. You can pick up a bag of 6 to Brew Tanzanian peaberry whole bean coffee for $5 at any of our upcoming shows. As a novice coffee snob, I can attest that it’s actually pretty nice—there’s a pleasant fruitiness to it that you don’t always see in other roasts.

Terrible Meme of the Day

I (Tyler) crudely Photoshopped this at 2 AM while Tera and their partner watched and gave input.
