Hey, SoSus Nation! It’s been a hot minute since we’ve clogged your inbox, boy howdy! We’ve been keeping busy these days—and admittedly, I’ve been kind of burned out so I tend to just play Pokemon instead of doing anything productive—so we apologize for ghosting you.

ANYWAYS, here are some of the cool things we’ve been up to:

Shows Galore!

For some reason, people keep asking us to play shows with them. I truly cannot fathom why this keeps happening. I mean, look at what the hell our bassist was doing at a recent show! I guess we’re a ā€œfeeding the audience vegetables during our setā€ band now?!

If you, dear reader, are also one of those weirdos who wants to play a show with us, check our schedule below then hit us up at [email protected] if timing works out. We’re especially interested in joining similarly weird people for shows outside of Milwaukee and even Wisconsin 😘

Our most recent show was a benefit for Life After Hate that raised $1,000! Thank you to Gnatiform for organizing the bill, Punk Rock Saves Lives for tabling at the event, and everyone who attended this all-day X-Ray soiree! With how much absolutely heinous shit is going on in the world, benefit shows are the least we can do to be there for our community. With that in mind, we are giving away free ICE alert whistles at all of our future shows, courtesy of organizers in Chicago who 3D print and ship them upon request. It’s only a matter of time before things ramp up in Wisconsin, so be prepared to help keep others safe (although there are reports of ICE using whistles to sew confusion in Minneapolis, so who knows how effective these will continue to be).

Old Music is Out!

Onto a more positive note! We last sent an email in August, so while many of you probably follow us on socials and already know this, we want to quickly reiterate that our debut EP came out last September! ā€œGhost Storiesā€ is a six-track culmination of over a decade of songwriting. These are songs written in our parents’ basements in the early 2010s; songs that were rejected by other projects; songs that only ever existed as demos for short-lived bands.. We’re still super proud of this jawn—and Tera’s production on the whole thing—but are also excited to be writing new music. Speaking of which…

New Music is In!

We’ve been finessing three brand new songs over the last few months, including one that we recently started incorporating into our live sets! ā€œBound to Breakā€ is a cautionary tale about bottling up your emotions that fluctuates between bouncy bridges, atmospheric verses, and aggressive choruses. Here’s a clip from our live debut at The Final Girl in Kenosha, courtesy of Tera’s sister. Other songs include a mostly straightforward post-hardcore ditty about lawn care and a bizarre spaghetti western thing with solos from every band member. The future of SoSus is bright and hopefully relatively enjoyable šŸ˜Ž

We’re also working on a new single that will live separately from our next album! It’s supposedly our third most played song across all the shows we’ve played, so if you’ve seen us live then you have almost assuredly heard it. We’re actually seeking as many people as possible to record background vocals for it—ability to sing well is optional—so hit us up at [email protected] or Instagram DMs if you might be interested!

Terrible Meme of the Day

I posted this on our socials last year and the brewery actually commented on it lmao
